Yes, please shampoo and condition your hair before your appointment. Many clients who skip shampooing may have significant product buildup, which can affect the results of your service. Since I am currently working from my home studio and do not have a shampoo bowl available, it's important that your hair is clean and free of buildup so we can achieve the best outcome during your appointment.

If you are a new client, please do not add any products after shampooing and conditioning your hair. This helps me assess your natural hair texture and condition without interference from outside products, which may not be the right fit for your hair. However, if you’ve been with me before and I’ve recommended specific products, feel free to add a light moisturizer after conditioning. This ensures we're working with the right products for your curls!

If you wear your hair open and out regularly, it's exposed to more environmental damage and wear, so I recommend trimming it every 3 to 4 months. However, if you usually wear your hair up or tucked away in a protective style, you can extend your trims to every 4 to 6 months. This helps keep your hair healthy and prevents split ends while maintaining length.

If your hair tends to be dry, shampoo once a week using a hydrating, moisturizing or conditioning shampoo to maintain moisture.

If your hair tends to be oily, use a clarifying, detox, or cleansing shampoo up to twice a week. You can also alternate between a hydrating and clarifying shampoo depending on your hair’s condition to strike the right balance.

Yes, wearing a bonnet before bed is essential for protecting your curls while you sleep. Even if you use a silk pillowcase, it won't fully preserve your hairstyle. A bonnet helps to maintain your curls and allows your style to last longer by reducing friction and preventing frizz.

To maintain moisture, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, followed by a leave-in conditioner or curl cream. Avoid washing your hair too frequently. Deep conditioning treatments once a month can also help keep your curls hydrated if needed.

Shrinkage is natural for curly hair, but to minimize it, you can try stretching your curls with protective styles like A high bun if you have looser curls and braids or twists if you have tighter curls.

The best way to maintain your curls is to avoid getting them wet too often, as this can cause frizz and disrupt the curl pattern. At night, cover your hair with a bonnet or silk scarf to protect your curls while you sleep. Also, be sure to moisturize your hair and refresh your curls once a week to keep them looking defined and healthy.

A consultation is important because it helps you understand your hair better. With so much misinformation out there, many people are unsure about what’s true and what’s not when it comes to hair care. By having a consultation, you can get personalized guidance and clarity, which is key to properly caring for and maintaining your hair. The more you understand your hair, the better you can nurture and style it effectively.

To refresh curls, you can lightly mist your hair with water or a curl-refreshing spray and reapply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or curl cream. Gently scrunch your hair to reactivate the curl pattern without making it too wet.

Yes, but coloring curly hair can cause dryness or damage if not done carefully. I recommend using a professional who understands curly hair and opting for moisturizing treatments after coloring to maintain the health of your curls.
